From 13 to 16 May 2018, representatives of the JPIC Commission met in the Provincial House of Gwangju, South Korea. Together with the JPIC in-charge of the provinces and vice-provinces, they studied and exchanged opinions on the activities of the Caritas Sisters regarding the themes of justice and peace, as well as the safeguarding of creation. This was the first meeting held, as it welcomed the decisions of the 2016 General Chapter that sought to involve the Congregation with issues inherent to the JPIC. In this meeting, the representatives became aware that the JPIC was not a mere part of missionary action; it was, instead, the style proper of consecrated life. This was because it was deeply linked with the charism and spirit of Congregation, that was particularly sent to the poor and the suffering.
